About the system

How does our system work?

ESWSE is a reliable solution ensuring safety during evacuation. Our modern system uses local reference stations and portable devices to monitor people with special needs in the building.

In the event of an emergency, our technology triggers alarms on personal devices, initiating quick evacuation processes while providing real-time location data to rescue and construction services.

Our system allows for:

Monitoring vital functions

Monitoring the heart rate or detecting the movement of an evacuated person, based on a base station that serves, among other things, as a local hub and data warehouse. This device communicates with components that locate the monitored person and measure basic parameters.

Locating people

Local reference stations broadcast a radio signal. This makes it possible to develop algorithms that locate a person moving indoors. In this way, the navigation functionality was implemented, which allows the person providing care to obtain information about the probable location of the monitored person.

Several benefits of the ESWSE system

monitoring vital functions;
data analysis by the person supervising the evacuation process;
integrated control panel equipped with unique vital signs acquisition functionality;
increasing the comfort of the monitored person through the sense of supervision by services that can quickly react in the event of a critical situation;
in the absence of direct care, a sense of security of the family aware of the services’ supervision over the monitored person;
breaking the mental barrier of monitored people for independent evacuation in the absence of a motor movement barrier;

The system consists of interacting components:

  1. A set of auxiliary devices

    performing the function of locating and monitoring the movement of an evacuated person;

  2. Watch

    mobile module monitoring vital functions, in the form of a watch;

  3. Data analysis and processing system

    based on the principles of storing information in the data cloud;

  4. Mobile application

    used for localization, system administration and visualization of basic information sent by the monitoring system headquarters;

  5. Web application
    used for localization, system administration and visualization of basic information sent by the monitoring system headquarters.

Who we are?

We are the ones who create the project

The Białystok University of Technology, as the leader of the project, carried out research related to the analysis of fall detection algorithms, conducting experimental tests and verifying the developed programs using mathematical and IT tools, i.e. Scilab, Python, etc. Additionally, the employees of the University of Technology developed algorithms for locating an evacuee. As part of additional work, expert opinions were also prepared containing procedures for the evacuation of people with special needs. Thanks to this, it is possible to disseminate the project’s effects in the form of scientific articles relating to evacuation standards used in Poland and the European Union.

Moose Sp. z o. o. was responsible for the implementation of the software layer in the project. The company integrated a mobile measurement system in the form of a watch with a set of active navigation points. Additionally, the Moose research team has developed a mobile, web application for analyzing measurement results and controlling the base station. An important element was the creation of a database located in the data cloud and the development of an appropriate tool for integrating the monitoring system with the mentioned data warehouse.

The Podlasie Assembly of People with Disabilities, as an organization supporting entities working for people with disabilities in the Podlaskie Voivodeship, together with the Białystok University of Technology, conducted in-situ tests of the device.
